This describes how to upgrade, and my experience.
sudo vim /etc/apt/sources.list
If you haven't changed to the local mirror, do the following:
:%s/^deb/# deb/
http://www.ralree.info/2007/3/20/uaf-ubuntu-mirror
If you have, just change all the 'edgy's with 'feisty's:
:%s/edgy/feisty/g
Now:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
(528 MB) / (698 seconds) = 774.601719 kBps
It took one hour (and one minute) in total. After the reboot, I log in and...
my window manager craps itself. I get no window decorations, I can't
alt-tab. Crap. Ctrl+alt+f1, sudo apt-get install kde. (I have been
using Xfce since for a long time). Reboot and log in with KDE - no
problems.
Haven't exactly seen any improvements yet, but I'm excited to see if
my Wireless Card Of Doom will work.
