Christine,

If yum is configured to use a mirrorlist, you may have downloaded the package
list from a server that was just synced, then been directed to a different
server that didn't have the packages yet when you tried to do the install.
I've had this problem with out of date mirrors before. You'll usually be
directed to a different server each time yum is run.

If this is the case, you can just keep trying to install the packages until
it works, or in your fedora.repo, comment out the mirrorlist, uncomment the
baseurl for downlaod.fedora.redhat.com, then ``yum clear all'', followed by
``yum list''. Make sure you still see the packages, and do your ``yum
install <package-name>''. Then be nice and point it back at the mirrors when
you're done, or point it at a local mirror such as ModZer0 (I'm sure someone
on the list knows what the url for ModZer0's fedora mirror is).
