From choward at indicium.us Tue Jul 1 18:38:43 2008 From: choward at indicium.us (Christopher Howard) Date: Tue Jul 1 18:38:36 2008 Subject: [Uaflug] Active directory Message-ID: <486AEA33.6030403@indicium.us> I'm a student worker for OIT-CTS. I've been trying to get a Linux box joined up to our Windows domain. I know there are plenty of other Linux machines on campus; has anyone on this list connected a Linux box to UAF active directory, or know of somewhere on campus where it has been done? I'd like to see Linux available in one of our Bunnell labs, but CTS won't allow students to use the computer unless it uses Active Directory authentication. It would be helpful if I knew of a successful configuration somewhere on campus. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to make the needed adjustments. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ActiveDirectoryWinbindHowto j -- Joshua Kugler Part-Time System Admin/Programmer http://www.eeinternet.com PGP Key: http://pgp.mit.edu/ ?ID 0xDB26D7CE From roger at eskimo.com Tue Jul 1 20:48:31 2008 From: roger at eskimo.com (roger) Date: Tue Jul 1 20:48:29 2008 Subject: [Uaflug] Active directory In-Reply-To: <200807012040.37057.joshua@eeinternet.com> References: <486AEA33.6030403@indicium.us> <200807012040.37057.joshua@eeinternet.com> Message-ID: <1214974111.30828.1.camel@localhost2.localdomain> You probably see this coming a mile away, but /me pokes pun at a secure box trying to hook into an unsecure box. Message-ID: <1214974348.30828.6.camel@localhost2.localdomain> Is there a good store within Fairbanks, Alaska selling decent OEM computer hardware? Considering retail items, was just informed I could buy items directly from the Best Buy store in Anchorage and be charge a very modest shipping charge (for shipping Anchorage to Fairbanks). Credit card information and Authorization to Charge form would need to be relayed by FAX. -- Roger http://www.eskimo.com/~roger/index.html -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... My four year old AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2600+ still has the CPU power, but could use a memory upgrade.
