I might add also, I'm in the North Pole area just south of
Wainwright/Fairbanks.  Power outages are as they state 2-3 times a year
and with short durations.  So as far as battery backup, I don't need it
as I also have a laptop and my current work load is minimal (... can
easily retype this email if the power goes out ;-).

If you are concerned about surges, just by a plug-in surge protector.
(I always use them and never had a problem... been all over the lower 48
as well as Alaska here, except for the surge protectors breaking...
expensive cheap plastic things.)

Have no idea if you're an average home user or work within a corporate
entity or in UAF... for an average home user, unless you're paranoid,
I'd save your money for heating costs.... lol.

Without shopping around for a new PSU, would assume Geek City would have
a good PSU in stock.
