[Uaflug] Why no single sign on at UAF?

I could go on and on about this as some on this list are well aware. I
will preface it with the fact that I am a Linux sys admin for the
University, yes I work for OIT, no I am not a cold, heartless wretch. 

I can say that there are projects in the works to provide
single sign-on, but the implementation is not an easy beast to tackle.
Throw in egos and political reasons and you can guess what's up.

Collective sighs all about.

Also I should note I am not directly involved in any single sign-on
project currently.
