Welcome to UAF.  I'm a student, so I'm kind of new here myself.

I think the list is 'dead' most of the time because there isn't really 
an active Linux user's group anymore... at least, one that has meetings, 
organization, and that sort of thing.  Just a lot of people on a mailing 
list.  (If I am wrong, someone please correctly me and tell me where we 
are holding the meetings...)

You mentioned that you are a programmer.  Do you only program at work, 
or do you have any interesting personal projects going as well?  
(Websites, games, open-source...)  Just curious because I'm a novice 
programmer.  (Mostly Perl so far, with a little C++, Java, and PHP.)
