[Uaflug] grub (lilo) failure

If you boot up with a windows install CD, and select the command prompt, you can use the FIXBOOT command to repair the master boot record (MBR). This will allow you to boot to windows, but not your RH8 and Ubuntu installs. If you want to fix GRUB, you going to need a ubuntu install cd, boot to text mode, mount your root partion and rerun grub. You may need to edit your grub.conf, to make sure all your installs are in the list.

Subject: [Uaflug] grub (lilo) failure

I have Ubuntu.

I was transferring on a leisurely basis my work from RH8 which is now
complete and XP. When I signed on the was a menu.

That menu is apparently grub and it is no longer there. I still have 30
file I need to come over from XP.

I need a way to fix grub

OR

a way to boot windows so I can abandon ship so to speak

thanks

C
