I've used LinNeighborhood [A graphical frontend to Samba] to mount shared 
folders that were on a Windows box.  If the two are directly connected and 
the Windows box doesn't need to read the linux-native partitions, then 
that is the easy way.  I have several acquaintences who share Windows and 
Linux boxes across small LANs if you have more particular questions, and 
I'm sure there are other list members here who have similar experiences :)
