Re: University of Alaska's USENET feed - comp.os.linux.misc?
Time frame for replacement hardware/upgrade of INN is approx 2 months.
I know this as I'm the guy building & deploying the machine. At/near
that same time, I'll be looking for better feeds. When news.alaska.edu
was deployed, gatekeeper.dec.com was one of the top 3 or 4 in the world
and has since dropped waaaay down the list. If anyone knows of a good
feed (someplace that would be *willing* to exchange feeds, not just a
good archive like dejanews) I'd be interested in hearing about it. If
at all possible, please include an email contact for the INN admin.
The new machine will have a 50+ Gb spool area and we should be able to
keep almost everything but the binaries groups for about 30 days. I'm
not sure how long the binaries will stay, probably a week.
