another option for the imacs is to install the auto poweron/off control 
panel (it's an option, not installed in an easy install), set it to 
reboot the computers when the lab closes, then set the default os at boot 
to linux. I have no ideas on the morning switch over back to macos, 
though if the usage of the imacs I've seen the last few times I've been 
in there is typical, they could could probably be left to run linux close 
to 24/7.
