Sound Issues
this hasn't bugged me all that much until today :)
i am running a Sound Blaster PCI128, kernel sound option: Ensoniq
AudioPCI (ES1370)
that seems to be the only kernel option that makes the card work.
the problem, on the other hand.. is the fact that the sound is real
low. i have to physically
turn the volume up on the speaker set. also, the program XMMS (formerly
known as
X11Amp) seems to be my master volume control for some wild reason.
anyhow, the thing that set me off today was i felt like using a cd for
once and got a couple
different console based cd players. i had to manually turn the volume
up double the amount
i did with an mp3 (which itself was twice as high as normal.. leaving a
cd at 4x's)!
if anyone has any insight as to why i'm not getting the full volume
throughput please help
me out :)
the sound quality though, is fine.. if anyone was curious.
thanks
