VPS means you get root on the domU and get to do whatever you want to it (like install your favorite distro). I use rimuhosting.com for my backup MX. I pay $18/month (though, that is with a 10% FOSS-developer discount). That price is hard to beat. smithj -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.9 (GNU/Linux) iEYEAREIAAYFAkjjw6cACgkQCG91qXPaRekRvACcCYci66kvT9ofeBS28urxHw6z uoQAn0MPqMdMRoYHAzgD1owykAG1D+ug =x61Q -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- From roger at eskimo.com Fri Oct 3 01:22:29 2008 From: roger at eskimo.com (roger) Date: Fri Oct 3 01:22:00 2008 Subject: [Uaflug] Used Computer Parts? Well, I've taken C++ and Assembly at UAF as part of my degree. They aren't my primary languages, but I do have experience using them. My senior project was in C++ (a few hundred lines), and I've done several dozen lines of C. Granted, not large amounts of experience, but I do have familiarity with the languages. Certainly not enough to get a job with...unless the employer was willing to pay me to come up to speed. j > > > "Programming from the Ground Up"; Jonathan Bartlett, provides some > good reading. > > On Fri, 2008-10-10 at 12:33 -0800, Joshua J. Thanks for your work at ADOT and the web interface to the highway cams. Because of this, I ended up in AK from OR right just during the first snowing along the Alaska Highway! If I would have waited another weak, would have probably been stuck in a snow drift. As I've started programming again (for the time being), yea, noticed I'm running out of space on my 19" when compiling via terminal. :-/ You never hear much of what works for other programmers. Most of the screenshots I see these days are just of eye candy. Oh... LinuxBIOS/Coreboot posted some really good screenies of dev work in progress. Good Luck. If you find anything, I might be also interested in a second used LCD monitor. -- Roger http://www.eskimo.com/~roger/index.html -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
